    Expert Tips

    • Marinate the chicken in your favorite fajita seasoning for at least 30 minutes before cooking. This will help to infuse the chicken with flavor and prevent it from drying out.
    • Cut the vegetables into thin strips so that they cook evenly. If you like, you can also pre-cook the veggies in the microwave for a minute or two before adding them to the air fryer basket.
    • Be sure to preheat the air fryer for a few minutes before cooking the chicken and veggies. This will help to ensure that they cook evenly and come out crispy and delicious.

    Variations

    • For the meat: You can use chicken breast, thighs, or tenders. If you are using boneless skinless chicken breasts, I recommend cutting them into thin strips before cooking. This will help them cook evenly and prevent them from drying out. You can also use pre-cooked frozen chicken strips, which will cut down on your cook time.
    • For the vegetables: You can use bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, or any other type of vegetable that you like. I recommend slicing the vegetables into thin strips so that they cook evenly in the air fryer.
    • For the spices: Use a store-bought fajita seasoning mix or make your own blend of spices. Some common spices used in fajita seasoning mixes include chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, and salt. Feel free to experiment and find the perfect blend of spices for your taste buds.

    Storing

Storing: Once your fajitas have cooled off, place them in an airtight container in your fridge. They will last 3-5 days.

Reheating: Put the leftover chicken fajitas in the air fryer and set it to 350 degrees F. Cook for 3-5 minutes until it is heated through.

    Recipe FAQ's

Can I make these fajitas in the oven instead of an air fryer?

Yes, you can make these fajitas in the oven at 400 degrees F for about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking time. However, they may not come out as crispy as when cooked in an air fryer.

Can I use different types of meat for these fajitas?

Yes, you can use any type of meat that you prefer. Some options include steak, shrimp, or pork. Just make sure to adjust the cooking time accordingly. For example, shrimp will cook much faster than steak.

What other toppings can I add?

Some delicious toppings for air fryer chicken fajitas include avocado, sour cream, salsa, and shredded cheese. Feel free to add any of your favorite toppings as desired.

How do you cut chicken for fajitas?

To cut chicken for fajitas, start by trimming any excess fat from the chicken. Then, slice the chicken into thin strips against the grain. This will ensure that the chicken cooks evenly and is easy to bite into. When in doubt, practice proper food safety and use a sharp knife to cut through the chicken.
