Healthy Snow Cone Syrup

Healthy snow cone syrup is a great way to use those summer cherries. No sugar added to the syrup and makes a fun snack for kids and adults.

Making this healthy snow cone syrup is easy too. Making the syrup with fresh cherries is so different than the cherry flavored stuff found in stores. Homemade tastes fresh, and the added vanilla gives the syrup even more flavor.

INGREDIENTS

How To Make Healthy Snow Cone Syrup

Step 1: Remove the pits from all the cherries. Add all the ingredients to a medium sized saucepan. Turn the saucepan to medium-high heat.

Step 2: Mash the cherries down as the mixture begins to boil.

Step 3: Keep stirring the boiling mixture until it starts to thicken up a bit. You’ll want the syrup to be close to a maple syrup consistency.

Step 4: Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer, so you are left with the juice and no skin of the cherries.

Step 5: Let cherry mixture cool to room temperature. Blend some ice in a blender and douse with syrup.
